Most arguments about this hardware are not disagreements. They are two people using the same word for different objects. Before anything useful can be said about performance or legality, the vocabulary has to be pinned down.
Bump stocks: momentum, not mechanism
A bump stock does not modify the fire control group at all. It lets the receiver slide against a braced shoulder so that recoil moves the firearm back and forth against a stationary trigger finger. The trigger functions normally; the shooter's body is being used as the reset spring. It is a technique aid, and a crude one — accuracy suffers, and consistency depends on maintaining forward pressure.

Binary triggers: two events per cycle
A binary or release trigger fires once when the trigger is pulled and once again when it is released. It is a genuine fire control modification, and it doubles the number of discharges per complete finger cycle. This is the category most often confused with forced reset designs, and the confusion is understandable — both produce a faster string — but the mechanism is the opposite. A binary adds a firing event on release. A forced reset design adds no firing events at all.
Forced reset: one round, faster return

None of this makes the market simple. It does make the questions answerable, which is more than can be said for most of what gets posted about it.
