This Missouri girl and her handsome beau possess a fairy-tale love story that's truly one for that book.
How have you met your Fiance?
Jared and I met in our early teens. It all began when Jared's family went to live in Grain Valley. Our brothers were within the same grade and our families became friends. I was annually younger than Jared coupled with a "crush" on him as soon as I met him. But at 13 he'd more important things on his mind than girls... like basketball. When we were in high school we began dating and fell in love quickly. We dated our entire senior high school. When college came around Jared was offered a basketball scholarship at Graceland University (Iowa) and I followed my hopes for being a Mizzou Tiger. We took a while apart but quickly realized there is no one else within the world for all of us. We got together again and dated throughout college and also got engaged annually after I graduated from MU.
How have you chosen the place for your wedding? What type of venue had you been looking for?
The location of our wedding was pretty simple to decide. 'Father from the Bride' happens to be one of my favorite memories since I would be a little girl. I always knew I wanted a traditional and stylish wedding. After we got engaged, we began doing a bit of research on venues in Kansas City. I scheduled an entire day of venue appointments, Hawthorne House being our initial stop. From as soon as we pulled up, we knew it had been where I was supposed to get married. The beautiful landscaping and stylish reception hall were breathtaking. And then the traditional chapel that sat on a single property sealed the offer! It was intended for "us".
How have you decided on your bridesmaid's dresses? Tell us about your experience at feeltimes!
Seeing as I was one of the first girls during my circle of friends to get married the whole wedding ceremony planning process was very a newcomer to me. I did lots of my research on vendors online. I came across FeelTimes eventually and quickly added it to my listing of places to consider bridesmaids' dresses....and I am so glad!
I always wanted my girls to put on rose gold bridesmaid dresses, but I quickly realized that would be a lot easier said than done. We were getting the hardest time locating the perfect gold color. When we visited FeelTimes on that day I quickly saw the color I had been trying to find. It was the most beautiful and stylish fabric I had seen yet. And the style is classy. I knew when I first viewed it....it had been the dress for my girls. Not only maybe it was by far my favorite dress I have seen, but FeelTimes was undoubtedly one of the nicest vendors I had met too. She is sweet to assist us to think about every girl and all sorts of the elements that went into picking the dresses.
Later on, in the planning process, it had been time for all of us girls to venture to Vegas for my Bachelorette party! I took one from the bridesmaid's dresses beside me to give to Kelsey since she lived in Arizona. On the way, my luggage got lost....and her dress is there! Seeing as how we ordered the final of that fabric, I am in a panic. We called FeelTimes while I was on the trip plus they saved the whole vacation. They told us never fear, they'd get ahold from the designer asap and obtain back to us. A few hours later they called with amazing news; they were able to order another dress and also have it made and shipped in time for that wedding! I was in a position to enjoy the remainder of my trip because of the ladies. After that, these were in constant contact beside me assuring me it might all exercise.... also it did!
Who designed your wedding dress? Where have you got it?
I got my wedding gown at feeltimes.co.uk. It was the elegant, traditional beautiful dress I had been searching for. I always knew I wanted lace and sparkle. This dress had an ideal combination of beautiful elegant lace and also the right amount of "tone on tone" sparkle I had been searching for! I loved it a lot.
What was your preferred part from the day?
My favorite part from the wedding day was probably spending this type of special day that does not only Jared and I had waited such a long time for, but our families too. Seeing as we dated 10 years I was not the only one getting excited about this amazing celebration. Our entire families were thrilled this very day was finally here and that we all had this type of fun time before it. I am much fun dealing with sharing the whole day using the people we loved most. Getting ready, taking photos, and soaking in each moment. I will also always remember the moment the chapel doors opened and I saw Jared for that first time. It was the happiest moment of my entire life.
What inspired you whenever you were planning your special day?
One of my inspirations for our special day was probably my favorite movie... Father from the Bride, lol! I have probably watched that movie millions of times and realized it by heart. It wasn't nearly a beautiful day, but the experience(s) and memories before it. I had this kind of amazing time planning every detail with my mom and Jared and can cherish those memories before the special day forever!
What advice have you got for other brides?
If I had any advice to provide brides I might probably enjoy every moment from it and don't allow the planning and details removed from the meaning around the day. A wedding would be to celebrate the love between both you and your husband. It's okay otherwise every detail goes perfect then one goes wrong. The important thing after all the planning and hard jobs are you are dealing with marrying the individual you cannot imagine your life without. Although I had a complete blast planning my wedding and loved every minute of it, my favorite part at the end of every detail was knowing I got to marry Jared, my mate!
