Runescape publisher Jagex's publishing wing has picked up a promising Indie release under the Jagex Partners label, which makes Melvor Idle an independent not anymore. The idler game, which is similar to games such as Clicker Heroes or Idle Champions of RS Gold the Forgotten Realms, was released on Steam earlier this year. It also wears its influence from Jagex's flagship game Runescape extremely proudly.

Melvor Idle is a detailed multi-track idle game which seeks to reimagine "the basic elements from the RuneScape franchise in a way to be enjoyed in a casual manner," says the publisher. It's a pretty high-quality idle game which has plenty of items to develop and progress, as well being a focus on avoiding high-end mechanics that require a restart.

Jagex has been rumored to have discovered the game's existence in the first quarter of 2020. It is believed that a significant portion of the staff at the publisher were enthusiastic about it following its first Steam launch in the month of October that year. As it is obvious, the developer is pretty pleased to be working with the developers who created one of their favorite games. "Being able to work with Jagex in direct collaboration on the game project has been a dream that has come true," said Brendan Malcolm, the solo creator responsible for Melvor Idle Studio Games by Malcs.

Malcolm posted a long Q&A to his game's Reddit community, explaining that he will maintain total creative control going forward, as well as stating that Melvor Idle's single purchase model of monetization wouldn't be altered. Jagex claimed that they has "no desire" to change anything related to Melvor Idle. The agreement for publishing will include Jagex as the sole provider of localisation, marketing, tech support, and the QA of osrs buying gold Melvor Idle.
