Passengers traveling with American Airlines reservations can now carry their beloved pets when traveling anywhere. American Airlines now allows around seven kennels on their regular flights' and five kennels on their American Eagle flights. To carry your pets on the American Airlines flight, you just need to contact their customer care team by dialing 800-433-7300 after making your reservations. Airlines can avoid taking the pets if the weather temperature is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or above 85 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Restrictions to carry pets in the cabin of the flight

American Airlines allows pets to be carried in the flight cabin, keeping in mind that they are small in size and a minimum of 8 weeks old. Also, the combined weight of the pet and its carrier must not exceed 9 kg. The pets must remain inside their carrier throughout the flight, and hence their carrier must be comfortable enough for them to sleep, stand and sit comfortably. The size of the carrier must fit under the seat in the flight. For customers who want to carry their pet within the United States, Canada, Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Colombia, the pet fee is $125.

Check-in Pets Carrying Service

Larger pets can also be carried through the American airline's cargo service that works on a first-come basis. The cargo allows passengers to bring two pets per person that has to be eight weeks old. The combined weight of the pet and the carrier must not exceed 45 kg. American Airlines charges $200 to carry your pets with these cargoes and $150 to bring your pets to and from Brazil.

Passengers must take their pet in a non-collapsible carrier of the size 48cm x 33 cm x 22cm. The pet must be able to move around, spin, stand, and sleep comfortably. If the carrier is soft-sided, it must be waterproof, with three side ventilation and a food and drink carrier for the pet.
