Windows 11 Upgrade Doesn't Work

Even with your windows 10 eligibility to upgrade into Windows 11, your system may not get the upgrade. The company set up a place of stringent requirements' set such as

  • 1GHz or faster CPU, 2 cores,
  • 64-bit processor,
  • the UEFI/Secure Boot capable system firmware,
  • GPU is compatible with DirectX 12.

If your system fills all requirements for Windows 11 upgrade and is eligible, but you can't upgrade it, you should look for the reason which can be – OS rolled out gradually through mid-2022. So you can wait for some time for a complete rollout. However, if you want to experience the new OS now, the safest bet is – perform a clean install with a Windows 11's ISO image file.

One small hack also can help in getting the workaround by the stringent Microsoft requirements. It's safe to follow, and you can see this method on Microsoft's own public support page.

Then, in the left-hand window sheet, go to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup area" and right snap to choose New > DWORD (32-cycle) Value. Here you'll need to alter and rename the worth to "AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU" and set the worth to 1.

Slow Startup and Shutdown

Some of the common issues can take place running into your Windows 11 system. For the most part, this issue is ascribed to the startup programs that take RAM and a chunk of the CPU, and it has more chances to slow down the system. However, some other instances are also available where disabling such issues from running in the background or startup enhances the system's speed.

From using up the vital resources, you can disable unnecessary startup programs and services with the fix.

  • Open Start using the Start search button.
  • Enter "startup apps."
  • Click and open the "Startup Apps" window
  • Toggle the most used apps and programs.

Type "msconfig" in the Startup tab to disable the startup services. You'll see a System Configuration Window. Click on "Services" and hit the "Hide all Microsoft services" tab. Next, check all programs that you don't need to run and click Disable all tab.

Start and Context Menu Issues

There are many users who like the Start button while they need to find anything for a productive workflow, and Windows 11 holds the same feature. However, a few users faced a strange issue wherein, at times, the Windows Start button doesn't carry the Start menu.

It's not so good, obviously, but Microsoft has a solution for this.

  • Tap Start Button and open Run App.
  • You can otherwise pressthe "Windows Key + R" button to open the Run app.
  • Instantly, close the app.
  • The bug should be fixed now.

In a few weeks, Microsoft will definitely solve the issue and will be gone for good. A context menu late opening is also another issue that fixes Microsoft said will be coming in the build 22478. Right-click on something load a bit slower context menu because of the bug. The delay becomes nearby 1 to 2 seconds and hinders the platform's smoothness.

Other minor issues

Except for the above issues, users have faced slow internet speeds after the upgrade. On the Intel Killer hardware, the issue founded more prominent, and Microsoft is trying to fix it. Users can install the latest update to check whether it's solved or not. If you're still experiencing this issue, then use a USB Wi-Fi dongle to get rid of it for some time.

Additionally, users have faced an unusual glitch. Users saw the same File Explorer as the older one, and it's due to the bug. This bug duplicates the Windows 10 format that you can fix easily.

  • Go to File Explorer and choose Options in the right-hand corner.
  • Hover the mouse to "View" and find a list.
  • Navigate and uncheck the option "Launch folder windows in a separate process."
  • Apply the changes
  • Restart your system to reset to the default setting.

One more minor issue is the blank Widgets board. If you swipe from the left side of the screen, the utility is brought up; you can also try pressing Windows + W. If you see empty boxes, then it's connected to your Microsoft account. You have to hover the mouse to the top corner, hit "Settings," and sign out. Now, log in again to the account to get the issue fixed in Windows 11.
