Animal Crossing: New Horizons has provided players with plenty of content to seal out the year, from Franklin's Turkey Day feast to Jingle's Toy Day extravaganza. Both mascots are going to be giving special New Year's what to players, though Tom Nook sees an increasingly complex item pool that Isabelle.

The mysterious loan shark Tom Nook offers players a couple of hats: the New Year's Hat plus the New Year's Silk Hat. Each hat can be purchased in eight colors, with blue, green, light blue, orange, pink, purple, red, and yellow hats available. However, the ingestion is that Tom Nook only offers one hat type per island, with only four colors open to obtain. As such, players will have to coordinate with friends or head over to trading sites like Nookazon to assert the many different New Year's hat variations.

With the hat and glowstick claimed, players are going to be doing a great deal of what they normally do on New Year's: waiting within the clock to strike midnight. With villagers dressed up in their New Year's Garb and possessing glowsticks in their own, the plaza needs to be a cute spot to gather with friends come the 31st. Once January first arrives, players will probably see a brief return of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' fireworks alongside the "Happy New Years" lights within the special clock looking at Resident Services.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons faces fierce competition, as the game's Halloween celebrations proved to be one of the best video game events in 2020.
