To avoid being charged for a subscription, you must cancel your subscription on or before the last day of the free trial period. Can I use one Roku account for multiple Roku device A Roku is a streaming device that plugs into any display device with an HDMI port and adds smart features to any TV, regardless of whether it is already a smart TV.
They are similar to computers and phones when it comes to hardware and software and only require a display to start using them. Since you only need to plug the Roku into a TV’s HDMI port and give it power, it is possible to use one Roku for all your TVs.
The biggest limitation would be that you won’t be able to use the Roku on more than one device at the same time. When you activate a Roku streaming player or Roku TV™, you have the choice to add, or link it to your existing Roku account, or you can create a new account.
When you activate more than one Roku device, each device can be linked to a different Roku account, or all devices can be linked to a single account. However if you wish to use the same Roku account on two different TVs The answer is: A Roku can get connected to a single TV simultaneously, so using the same Roku on multiple TVs simultaneously is out of the picture. You'll need to unplug the Roku from one TV and connect it to the other TV; this is the only way to use the device with multiple TVs.
As a result, they can only be used on one TV and cannot be remotely accessed anywhere else. There are two paths in front of you if you want to use a Roku for all of the TVs in your household- one where you get a Roku for each of your TVs and the other where you use a single Roku for all of the TVs. If you’ve chosen to go for the former, then your initial cost to set up the entire thing would be very high because you’ll need to pay up to $50 for every TV. If you want a 4K experience with your Roku since this is the price for a single Roku 4K streaming stick.
The advantage of doing this would be that you won’t need to plug in or unplug anything. Also, each Roku would be customized for the TV it is used with, with all the picture and sound settings tuned exactly for that single TV. Rokus are an inexpensive way to upgrade old TVs and add new smart features to them. You do not need a Roku for each TV in your house, but you can choose to have one Roku for each TV if your budget allows you to.
You can also use the same Roku for all your TVs. You won’t need to set up the device every time you change TVs since the Roku is independent of whatever device you plug it into. All that changes is the Wi-Fi network that you’ll need to connect to because if your house is large, one Wi-Fi network may not cover the entire area.
How to create free Roku account
Roku is the #1 streaming device on the planet for many reasons. For one, it offers the most selection of all the OTT/streaming devices — you’ll find more channels and content available on Roku than on any other streaming device on the market. Not just the usual Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, but thousands more channels (many of them developed by yours truly) running the gamut from Movies & TV, to Music, to Sports, to Everything Else. Secondly, Roku is the easiest device to set up.
All you need is an internet connection and a credit card or PayPal account to register your device online and you’re off. Roku stores your credit card/PayPal and billing info for on-screen in-app purchases, like buying movies from FandangoNOW or subscribing to various SVOD (subscription-based) channels.
But wait — what if you don’t want to provide that information? Can you still register your Roku device? At the time of this writing, you CAN. Of course that may change, but for now, if you would like to register your Roku device WITHOUT having to provide your credit card or billing info — and not have to worry about your kids or someone else actually making purchases — there’s a simple workaround. It works best if you actually have a PayPal account — but you don’t really need one, and I assure you that even if you do have one, you won’t really have to use it.
Here’s how to do it in ten simple steps:
- When you first install your device, you’ll be asked to go to www.roku.com to register it.
- Click My Account, then Create Account.
- Enter your name and email and select a password. Confirm you’re human then move on to the next page.
- Enter and confirm a PIN for your account — be sure to click “require a PIN for all transactions” just to be safe. The go to the next screen.
- On this screen they’ll ask for your billing info.
- Select PayPal. Enter your PayPal email — or make one up. Enter an address and phone, etc., then submit.
- At this point, Roku re-directs you to the PayPal homepage to login and confirm you are linking Roku to PayPal. Once the PayPal page loads, simply CLOSE the page. Do NOT login to PayPal, do NOT confirm anything, just CLOSE it.
- Next, open a NEW browser window or tab and go back to www.roku.com click on My Account again, and you’ll notice that under the Payment Method comment it states to “Add a payment method to make purchases.” You have, in effect, now bypassed having to do that.
- Scroll down and click “Link a Device.”
- Follow the instructions to link your device and you have now done so without having to register a payment method on-file.
You can now freely use Roku without them having any of your credit card, debit card, PayPal, banking or other info on file. You can even use a different name and address if you want to maintain total privacy. Over my years of developing and producing TV channels for the Roku platform I have come across many people who are concerned with providing their banking or billing information when registering a device. For most it’s just a matter of privacy — they don’t want anyone knowing what they’re doing or watching or using Roku for.
I often assure them that their information is indeed secure, but to each his own, I guess. Once your Roku is registered and linked, you can then go about using it as if you normally would. You can add whatever channels you want, so long as they’re free channels or they’re subscription channels like Netflix or Hulu where you have sign up online anyway. The only thing you CAN’T do is subscribe to channels or services like Netflix and Hulu through the Roku platform, on-screen.
Other than that, you’re free to move about the platform and enjoy it all securely and privately. I forgot my roku account password If you're having trouble signing in to your Roku® account, you can regain access by requesting a password reset to the email associated with your Roku account. If you've forgotten your password, you can have a password reset email sent to the email address associated with your Roku account.
If you don’t get the email, check your spam, junk, or similar folders and make sure that you’re using the correct email address.
- Go to my.roku.com/password/reset, enter your email and select Submit
- Roku will send a password reset email (valid for one hour) with a link (if it doesn't open automatically, copy and paste the link into your browser)
- Enter new password on the Create password page
- Select Submit
- Once complete, return to my.roku.com and sign in with your new password If you don’t remember what email you used to set up your Roku account, you can find it through your Roku streaming device or through your Roku Smart Home app.
On your Roku streaming device:
- Press Home on your Roku remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- Select System
- Select About to view your email address
From your Roku Smart Home app:
- Open the Roku Smart Home app
- Go to Account
