How the wiped film evaporator works
A wiped film evaporator (WFE) is a type of evaporator that uses a rotating wiper to spread a thin film of liquid over the inner surface of a heated evaporation chamber. The liquid is then quickly vaporized, leaving only the desired component(s) behind in the chamber. Wiped film evaporatos are commonly used to separate and purify volatile liquids and can be operated at very high temperatures and pressures.
Structural composition of wiped film evaporator
Wiped film evaporators typically consist of four main components: an evaporation chamber, a wiper assembly, a heating system, and a condenser. The evaporation chamber is usually cylindrical in shape and made from stainless steel or another corrosion-resistant material. The wiper assembly consists of a motor-driven shaft with one or more wipers attached.
