Cultural apropriation could be a problem, but people frequently talk about it the wrong way. For example, if a brand new culture adopts say a necklace and it becomes a popular trend, but the civilization that invented it is viewed as backwards for using it, that is problematic cultural apropriation.

I'm white and if I was small I needed a Black Barbie more than anything. My mom went to a lot of distinct stores trying to find a single and eventually had to special order it. The reason for for my desire? My best buddy was Dark and it made no sense to me if the people around me weren't all white that my dolls should all be white. The number of people who would most likely dislike this to oblivion probably outnumbers the number of individuals who like it.If I will customise my character in a game I play as a really major man, often not white. I'm a white girl, I simply enjoy playing as someone who looks different to me. I don't attempt to recreate myself, who doesn't interest me.
