In October of 2016, we went for sushi and drove everywhere for insufficient other ideas. We just desired to keep talking and not let the night end. He started singing the song Beast of Burden through the Rolling Stones in my experience shortly into the drive and I knew right then – this is the one. And if I needed any more reassurance, adopting our cat Captain was it. Our first dance was obviously to Beast of Burden at our wedding.
He has been trying to find an ideal time for that proposal for a little while and he’d had the ring looking at his dresser for many months. I helped him pick it and he proudly announce when he purchased it. It was torture awaiting him to pop the question! On Valentine’s weekend of 2020, we continued a camping visit to Mt. Madonna. I hadn’t thought a lot of it since I realized that he left the ring in your own home when we left for that trip. One night, we went for a night hike also it was so dark! I couldn’t see my hand before my face with no flashlight. Supposedly he got recorded on one knee (I couldn’t see) and that he grabbed my hand and inquired about marrying him. I cried and eagerly shook my head yes (not to he could tell). It was an interesting and awkward proposal that required no ring. It was perfect!
So a lot of my friends have experienced Pinterest boards and grand visions of weddings since middle school… I wasn’t like this. I did know, however, that I wanted a storybook wedding dress. His vision? A teal suit. I love teal so I was pleased to find a theme to include it. We both possess a special devote our hearts for Monterey, CA and suddenly the visions of the wedding started uniting.

Before the ceremony, there wasn’t a real great place to “hide” from the guests before my entrance… So I sat inside a corner and my two bridesmaids stood on each side and fanned out their feeltimes dresses to cover me. It was silly also it felt so us. Having them there surrounding me on the most exciting day of my entire life is something I’ll remember.
