We've maxed phoenix strike, claws of thunder, blades of ice, fade, and the remainder into tiger strike for skills, also d2r items. 1 point into all finishers right down to dragon flight. 1 into weapon block.
We typically build charges within this order:
-3 cobra strike, employed for the leech, and that we get it first just in case we need to perform a kick or dragon claw to remain alive in the end and charge up others.
-3 blades of ice, employed for cold damage, but more to the point, the CC.
-2 phoenix strike, employed for lightning damage and enormous AoE.
-3 tiger strike, employed for a large rise in physical damage.
IMO, fists of fire aren't useful aside from it being a synergy for phoenix strike charge 1 meteor. You don't leech by using it and it will be to your detriment for that reason.
Claws of thunder is another bit useless if you are using phoenix strike because of the next hit delay. If we’re using phoenix strike, then we'll occasionally use charge 1 of claws of thunder for that added lightning damage around the single target, we'll also occasionally use 3 charges of claws of thunder alongside phoenix strike, but haven't seen a difference in damage (if I'm using phoenix strike charge two or three). It is nice to alter it up, though, and employ 3 charges of claws of thunder with no phoenix strike charges.
Blades of ice is great, since it doesn't have next hit delay, provides exceptional CC, and deals cold damage which just adds another element to your repertoire
Phoenix strike may be the big one and also the most customizable:
-Charge 1 puts the body (PC or console) to operate.
-Charge 2 is excellent AoE, and does good damage.
-Charge 3 can also be good AoE, but we would rather use charge 2 since we typically are utilizing blades of ice. That way I'm doing multiple diffs. damage types overall.
Tiger strike is great for that added physical damage:
Overall, IMO the build is of a glass cannon, and we highly recommend maxing fade, despite GG gear, but as you become GG gear and also have quite a little of +skills we suppose could respec to then place those skills invested into fade into another thing. The only time we do not use fade happens when we’re running places I know aren't everything dangerous with ranged enemies (ie. quill rats, archers, souls, frenzy tours, vipers, etc.)... also employ fade in chaos sanctuary, due to curses and the like.
We can easily see one hybridizing it with traps when they wanted, too. Mostly just by maxing tiger strike and achieving 1 into cobra strike, maybe even 1 into blades of ice for that CC, but that's debatable. You can lay traps for AoE/packs when you dragon flight/run around kicking or using dragon claw while your traps fire off. I'm sure could be beneficial against bosses too.
Perhaps a hybrid death sentry/phoenix strike charge 1 meteor for any kind of fire/explosive theme. IMO you can manage the meteors a bit just by not using dragon talon lol. That way you do not stress out the body too much (PC or console), but even so, they will probably begin to add up a little.
